The Vatican has announced that Pope Benedict has sent 94 St. Christopher medals to the White House; one for each of President Obama’s United States Attorneys.

“It is my deepest and most sincere hope,” The Holy Father said, ” they will be used to help Mr. Obama’s legal team find their way back home from their long journey into the ego and power-driven sinful world of politicized justice and national secularism.”

St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers.

The Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia, have called for 9 days of prayer and fasting to counter President Barack Obama’s war on religious liberty and freedom.

The sisters noted that Pope Benedict recently warned U.S. bishops that Catholics in the United States face “grave threats to the Church’s public witness” and “attempts to limit the most cherished of American freedoms, the freedom of religion.”

They are also asking for intercession by the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patroness of the United States.  Mr. Obama has declined to admit or deny whether he recognizes Mary as the nation’s patroness or what role she plays in politics and current national events.
