Had mob boss Lucky Luciano not chosen a life of crime, few doubt he would have lacked the skills to head up the attorney general’s office of a large state like California or New York. Time Magazine named him as the “criminal mastermind” among the top 20 most influential builders and titans of the 20th century.
He was a stylish dresser, photograhed well and held himself out to the public as a legitimate and reputable businessman. Luciano had the ability to raise and manage the capital he needed for his various enterprises and rewarded those he trusted and served him well.
